Caloric Needs Calculator
  • Calculates How Many Calories You Need to Maintain Body Weight
  • Quick, Accurate Results

  • This calculator determines how many calories you need each day to maintain your body weight. Of course, if you are trying to lose weight, you should reduce this amount. Many experts say a daily reduction of 500 calories is a healthy way to lose weight. Since 3500 calories equals a pound, this would put you on track to lose one pound per week. If you're trying to gain weight, the converse is true. Note that the output is based on averages and an athlete or bodybuilder may require more calories to maintain additional muscle mass.
